About Me
Software engineer who likes building things, breaking things, and figuring out how things work.
Hey there
I'm Arunai - a software engineer currently at Lightcast, where I spend most of my time wrangling AWS infrastructure with Terraform, building CI/CD pipelines that actually work, and making sure our microservices don't catch fire in production (and when they do, I'm the one putting them out and writing the postmortem).
I've worked across a pretty wide range of things - from architecting serverless pipelines on Lambda to building Python, Bash, and Go CLI tools that ended up being used by multiple teams (I just committed them to the common repo), to setting up container security scanning in our pipelines. I'm also responsible for the security of my team's GitLab repos - both code and dependencies - and our cloud resources. At work, almost 99% of our cloud resources are created and maintained via Terraform, so I know some Terraform.
Outside of work, I like exploring things like LLM inference on GPUs and building terminal apps that only I use.
Beyond Code
When I'm not staring at a terminal, I like to think of myself as a photographer and traveler - though honestly, I haven't done nearly enough of either. It's more of an aspiration at this point. I've got a camera (only my phone for now - planning to buy a Sony), I've got a list of places, and one day the stars will align.
I'm generally just curious about how things work.
